I used to work at the pavilion in the late 80s and 90s when it was a coral then gala bingo till its closure when we moved to a brand new build over the road from the bus station! have a LOT of happy memories working there! i used to have to the paybox sometimes (yes they were still chargin 10p to come in lol) and at the end of the night i had to go round with the chains to lock up the fire exits and also venture upstairs to the projection box area to turn off the emergency light system! (used to creep me out as it was dark as rarely had the circle lights on as it was very rarely used (never got enough custom) BUT the projection box was a wonder to see ..non of the projectors BUT it still had all the control panels for the lighting and cinemascope, and tabs ect, Also there was a spiral staircase (im assuming an emergency exit from the box) that went down to nowhere (was above the gents stalls toilets and prize bingo shop) SADLY the guy that took int over for the furnituer shop ripped out the walls to the projection box from the circle along with the circle toilets to give him more show room space !
